Exhibition Review: Jianmei Aluminum at Big 5 Global 2023, Dubai — The Three Questions Middle East Buyers Ask Most

Jianmei Aluminum
From December 4 to 7, 2023, the 44th edition of Big 5 Global took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre, officially opened by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. Shandong Jianmei Aluminum Co., Ltd. (“Jianmei Aluminum”) participated at Booth AR H223, joining industry professionals from around the world at the Middle East’s premier construction event of the year.
A US$7 Trillion Market
The Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA) region is in the midst of a massive construction cycle. According to industry research firm ABiQ, the region holds over US$7 trillion in active projects, with recently awarded projects valued at US$3.8 trillion. From Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 megaprojects to the ever-evolving skyline of the UAE, both the volume and quality bar for architectural profiles are rising fast. As the leader of the Gulf construction market, the UAE is now home to thousands of Chinese companies and serves as a vital gateway for Chinese building material enterprises entering the Middle East.
A Show Covering the Entire Value Chain
Big 5 Global is the largest and most influential construction industry event in the MEASA region, organized by dmg events. This edition brought together over 2,200 exhibitors from more than 60 countries and over 68,000 professional visitors from more than 150 countries, across 20 country pavilions. Eight specialized co-located shows covered the entire construction value chain — from heavy machinery and concrete to windows, doors & facades, glass, HVAC, stone, urban landscaping, and facilities management — while high-level forums such as the Big 5 Global Leaders’ Summit and the FutureTech Summit focused on decarbonization, sustainability, and artificial intelligence. Two of the show’s core product sectors, “Building Envelope & Special Construction” and “Building Interiors & Finishes,” align directly with Jianmei Aluminum’s product portfolio.
Three Questions from Middle East Buyers
Over the four days, Jianmei Aluminum’s booth welcomed architects, developers, and building material buyers from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, and beyond. Their questions converged on three themes:
First, can it withstand the climate? With extreme heat, intense UV exposure, and frequent sandstorms, buyers care most about whether a profile’s weather resistance and surface treatment can stand the test of time.
Second, can quality stay consistent at scale? Large-scale projects in the region involve high volumes and tight schedules, making precision, batch-to-batch consistency, and supply reliability critical.
Third, can customization keep up? From skyscraper curtain walls to high-end residential windows and doors, project requirements vary widely — buyers need a supplier with true one-stop responsiveness, from design support to delivery.
Jianmei’s Answers
These three questions play directly to the strengths Jianmei Aluminum has built over more than two decades of R&D and manufacturing. The company presented four major product lines — architectural door and window profiles, curtain wall profiles, industrial profiles, and all-aluminum furniture — backed by a complete in-house surface treatment chain spanning mold design and manufacturing, aluminum alloy processing, anodizing, electrophoresis, powder coating, fluorocarbon coating (PVDF), and wood-grain transfer. PVDF coating, in particular, is a proven long-term solution for high-temperature, high-UV environments. Two modern manufacturing facilities with an annual capacity exceeding 120,000 tons underpin the precision and delivery reliability that large orders demand, while a full-chain service system covering R&D, production, and after-sales turns customization requirements from drawings into finished products. During the show, several construction companies held in-depth discussions with the Jianmei team and expressed their intention to cooperate on site.
Onward from Dubai
For Jianmei Aluminum, the Dubai trip was more than an exhibition — it was a first-hand lesson in understanding the Middle East market. Today, Jianmei products are exported to more than 30 countries and regions worldwide, including the United States, Brazil, Germany, Russia, Australia, Japan, and South Korea. Carrying the trust and expectations gained in Dubai, Jianmei Aluminum will continue to answer with quality — writing a new chapter for Chinese aluminum profile manufacturing in the MEASA region.
